The history of Axion Technologies all started over 30 years ago. A group of physics and technology professors from a Quebec college decided to get together and revolutionize the way bus and train operators communicated with their passengers. And they did just that.
Over the years, Axion relentlessly raised the bar in passenger communication. From audio communication and sign systems to infotainment, Axion excelled at developing, manufacturing, and managing projects for passenger information systems. Axion left no stone unturned on the path to finding optimal solutions for any project’s standards and constraints, whether it was an entirely new deployment or retrofitting existing vehicles.
Clients working with Axion became long-term partners who benefited from their solutions—not just standard customers receiving a one-size-fits-all product. Worldwide customers include the Long Island Railroad (US), Chicago Transit Authority (US), New Jersey Transit (US), Toronto Transit Commission (Canada), Irish Rail (Ireland), Channel Tunnel Rail Link (UK), London Underground (UK), and STAR Light Rail Transit (Malaysia).
Axion’s complete control over the manufacturing process, an unprecedented focus on solution reliability, and integrated approach to passenger communication systems provided their customers with peace of mind, knowing all aspects of their project were covered. Axion’s support was second-to-none: customers were impressed with how committed Axion’s team was to making their project happen and supporting it once it was on the go. Long-term support contracts and warranties gave customers added reassurance that they had chosen the right partner.
Axion Technologies was acquired by and integrated into Luminator Technology Group in 2014.
